57, Pacific Northwest, 5:56:33, but 48th in Open!
Almost 10 minutes faster than 2006.

Question ... do you think going closer to KoKo Heads may have been a better line? Did you strike current on the approach?

Thanks for the comments. It was most fun and I didn't want to get out once we were surfing in the bay. As for the line, there were a lot of boats in our line, a ton closer to Koko Head, and some top teams more south. I do think going north right away in the wind shadow is a good idea, but it also makes it harder for the escort to find you (which we had trouble doing). But that said, we were surfing very well almost the entire way, so it worked for us. The tides were with us this year.
